I want to connect to my files at work from home. How do I do that?
Q1: How do I access my files and other CWSL resources (OnlineInfo forms, etc.) remotely?

A:  CWSL maintains a web-based remote access portal that allows faculty and staff to access files, email, as well as forms and other resource documents found in the CWSL OnlineInfo web site. To connect to the CWSL web portal you only need a computer with an Internet connection and a web browser.

To access the CWSL web-based VPN portal:

  1. Verify that you have an active Internet connection (open your web browser, verify you can access web sites).
  2. Next, go to https://connect.cwsl.edu
  3. Log in with your usual network username and password (omit the "@cwsl.edu" when entering your username).

After authenticating, you will see a menu similar to the one below:

CWSL Juniper VPN Remote Access Portal

The links in the Web Bookmarks section are self-explanatory.

The links in the Files section allow you to access your files remotely.  Please note that this system is intended for "light" file system access. In other words, if you need to access a file to view it or make a change then upload it again, the system works fine. If you are looking to make changes to many different files, this system can be a bit cumbersome. In that case, please contact Help Desk and we'll discuss alternatives.
