How can I send a fax from my computer?
Q2. How can I send a fax from my computer?

You can send a fax from your computer using the RightFax Client software. If this software is not installed on your workstation, contact Help Desk. A RightFax Fax Printer object will appear in your list of printers if this software is installed.

To send a fax from any application, you "print" to the RightFax Fax Printer.  This printer object is created when the RightFax software is installed.

Here are the general steps:
  1. From your application (Word, Excel, etc.), select Print.
  2. From the list of printers, choose the RightFax Fax Printer.
  3. A dialogue box like the one below should appear. Enter a name and a fax number (those are the only two fields that need to be filled out).
     - For numbers within the 619 area code, enter only the 7-digit number (no "8" or anything else).
     - For numbers outside of the 619 area code, enter 1 plus the area code plus the 7-digit number, e.g. 1-858-555-1212.
  4. Click on Send.

You can check the status of the fax you sent by clicking on the RightFax icon in the System Tray (lower right corner by the clock), then select FaxUtil.
