When you have this screen view of your email, Choose Tools, Mailbox Cleanup

 

 

You will see this screen, which is very intuitive, and will allow you to set parameters to clean up your email easily.   If you set the Find Items older than 0 days and deselect Find items “larger than” you can then click on the FIND button to get a greater set of items available for other search criteria. 

 

 

Use the More Choices Tab to choose only items with attachments, only flagged items, items of a defined size, among others.

 

Use the Advanced tab to choose your own criteria.  You can save that criteria for future searches.

From this list you can also select items to delete (see above).

With this next setting all of your deleted mail will be emptied automatically, rendering it unrecoverable.  It also means you never have to manually empty your deleted email.  Use this one judiciously.  Under Tools, Options, Other

 


 

Check this box:  FYI, we don’t recommend archiving your email, which is also on this page.  Archive mail defaults to your local c: drive, which you’ll loose if your computer changes.  To archive to the network just adds to the amount of data saved on our network.
